Kerala Fish Curry

Kerala Fish Curry

Whenever I visit Kerala, I have a wonderful fish curry. Different types of fish curry Some people use coconut paste, coconut milk or chilli paste and many others. My mother has a different way of making fish curry and my silk makes her different from Kollam. So I want to enjoy something different every time. This is my version and Super Simple is the sea fish I used so you can add any fish you want. It has everything from spicy, spicy and mango to sweet.

Ingredients

1 whole fish
1/2 cup grated coconut
4 cloves garlic
1 inch ginger
1 1/2 tbsp chilli powder
1 tbsp coriander powder
To taste the salt
1/2 tsp turmeric powder
Lime size of kudampuli or tamarind juice
1 medium small ripe mango
Curry leaves
3 green chillies
Coconut oil or ordinary oil
1 cup of water

Steps.

1) Wash and set aside the fish. In a mixer, combine coconut, finger garlic, chilli powder, turmeric and coriander power, salt, some curry leaves and a little water to make a smooth paste.

2) Add coconut oil to a pan and add some curry leaves. Continue to add a little water and cook for some time. You can again order spices and add salt here.

3) Once the oil is found on top, add the tamarind or kudampuli and boil to taste. It can be sour and tough. Then add the fish and mango and cover until the fish is finished. Add some curry leaves, chillies and a few drops of coconut oil and cover and keep it close till you serve.

4) So all of these flavors lend themselves to fish and curry.
